BARHI DATES – Taste Like Caramel!

Recently discovered Barhi Dates at the Santa Monica Sunday Farmers’ Market. The vendor at the SaMo Farmers’ Market said they taste like not-so-sweet persimmons! Supposedly they will ripen within two weeks, and be like the dried dates we all love. They will taste like caramel! I can’t wait for that phase! They are only in season for five weeks! I have a special treat on my hands! Just wanted to share this experience! Yum!

And if you want to try them, you have three weeks left to find them! Heads up!

Loading the Tenth Amendment Center the other day, I came across something that made me laugh out loud. And not that this isn’t serious.. because it is… but who of all people should give a testimonial for the Tenth Amendment Center?! Chuck F-ing Norris.

As shown in the Tenth Amendment Center pop-up promoting their newsletter.

Makes me smile when I think about it now. He is such a phenomenon. From Chun Kuk Do to Walker, Texas Ranger to Total Gym Home Fitness Equipment to Politics – Chuck Norris.

What is the Tenth Amendment Center?

An organization that works to preserve and protect states rights and federalism through information and education.

What is the Tenth Amendment?

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

A Case of the Mondays

Every Monday morning I get that “Nervous To Go Back To School After Having The Summer Off Feeling” because I have to go back to work after a wonderful “Do Anything I Want With My Life Weekend.”

This could mean:
A – I am immature.
B – I am lazy.
C – I don’t like people.
D – I really don’t like going to work.

I’ll take the latter. It’s not that I don’t like working. I, uh, um… er… I’ll leave it at that.

For now I’ll call this feeling, to quote OFFICE SPACE, “A Case Of The Mondays!”

Egg Day

Egg and toast and bacon and coffee and blueberries and GAIN. Well, I said GAIN because I see it in the background. I don’t eat Gain. Gain smells like hamster cages.

So this is the day I tested eggs. I was all excited, and did my old morning routine – Egg and toast and bacon and coffee. I used to do OJ, but it has too much sugar for me now. Hence the blueberries! I’ve found a true love in berries. They are the fruits with the least amount of sugar!

Anyway, the day I tested eggs. I had high hopes, but I figured I would be let down… and I was.. let down that is. Next day the sickness hit in the morning, and then again, the next morning.

BUT – the positive I see in this – I can still have egg yolks. I am only allergic to the whites! So there’s something!

I think there should be a Woody Allen Pandora Station.

My 30-Year-Old Pillow

Yes, I used this pillow up until the time time it busted. I knew then to throw it out.

…. Well, okay….

I have to admit….. At first I was going to sew it back up and continue using it. the foam was just the firmness I like! This was my best pillow!!

BUT then

I came across Dust Mites: Everything You Might Not Want To Know!

Ten percent of the weight of a two year old pillow can be composed of dead mites and their droppings.

Shit!

So even after all that, I’m thinking it’s still usable, right?! I had options!

plastic cover on pillow to keep mites in
leaving it in the Second Street Tunnel for a homeless person to use

Hmmmm… tough call.

So after weighing out both of those options, I opted to throw it down the trash chute.

It was time.
