What did she say?!

I tried to order a kombucha on tap about an hour ago, and the lady behind the counter said that my GTs Kombucha on Tap was recalled by Whole Foods!!

Huh, What?!

Yes. It gets worse.

ALL kombucha, on tap and bottled, have been recalled by Whole Foods and other major suppliers.

Well, how many times have we seen this? Police breaking the law. It happens everyday.

I thought I’d write about my latest witnessing of this because of what happened as an outcome.

On my way to work this morning…..

I was getting all riled up because I saw a police car pull into the BUS ONLY lane. He wanted to turn left instead of going around and about like all the other cars have to do! I was getting heated in my driver’s seat because I don’t think police officers should be able to break the law.

Well, coincidentally, what followed was even more shocking! This chick in her 20s, with french braids, driving her charcoal Civic followed the police car! It was like a mini morning soap opera in my neighborhood!

What was going to happen?!

Well, I turned right, but looked back to see the outcome! A motorcycle cop came out of nowhere and pulled over the Civic! Technically she broke the law, but she did in while following a cop! I can only imagine what transpired after that!

And then I went on to work, and about my day. Happy Tuesday!

People hide behind their hair. Literally.

Like when I am in the elevator and they hold their head down while looking at their phone or something… they let their hair hang down and completely cover their face out of fear of me. Me! Is it too much to acknowledge that other human beings exist?!

Note #1 – For those people who do this out of a mental disability in the realm of social anxiety disorder, I apologize. I realize that’s actually a debilitating illness.

Note #2 – The blog post titled, “People Hide Behind Their Mobile Phones” will be reserved for another day. That is an annoying thing too.. and I think there’s a lot more to say about it because of the vast world of technology that we live in nowadays.

Two weeks in a row I’ve needed simple parking in Downtown Los Angeles. Is that too much to ask for? The answer is Yes.

Today and last Friday I took off work to run errands for my virus ridden computer which had been getting serviced by IT Support Guys. I needed parking for a simple drop off/pick up situation. (more…)

Food makes me happy. Not having food makes me grumpy.

This allergy test elimination phase is ridiculously hard. I just went through a strict Candida Diet for three months. I thought this allergy stuff would be easy compared to that. It’s easier in some ways, but way harder in other ways. For example, Michael and I went to our favorite Downtown Los Angeles spot, Bottega Louie, Saturday afternoon. I thought for sure that I would be able to find something I could eat there. Something. There was nothing. I could have ordered coffee, tea or water. Other than that, there was not a single thing I could eat there. I got really bitchy and almost started crying. I was devastated!

Michael and I had a talk about it. He reminded me that I am choosing to do this. I agreed, but it’s still hard, and I still like to bitch about it!

The other thing that is hard is my hypoglycemia. I have been having trouble finding things I can eat, so I am not eating enough. I have been experiencing the sweats, the blurring vision, anxiety, heart palpitations. I just need to buck up and plan out my meals better, and NOT go anywhere to eat to be taunted by such things as cheese, pizza, sushi, lasagna…

I CAN DO THIS.

Let me start by saying, I knew this would happen someday. Michael is always bringing to my attention that I don’t know how to use a computer. He says that I am always abusing them.

So the worst thing that could ever happen in the PC World happened last Friday.. and yes, I freaked out. I had an anxiety attack so hard, I was paralyzed.

Got an email and text from my doctor this morning explaining that she’d been called to Jury Duty and could not meet with me to give me my Allergy Test Results.

One question - Why are doctors in the pool for Jury Duty?! All these people who need her help today….

Annoying.

Year after year I do my taxes myself. Year after year, all my friends tell me how much more money they get back when they go to a tax guy. At first, I just chucked it aside, thinking the tax guy wasn’t for me. Then my feelings turned to jealousy. Then this year, with a new thing on my plate (an investment from Dad), I thought it time to seek the help of the tax guy.

In asking around, I came across Anthony R. Loya and Associates, recommended by my old boss, Mark.

Thursday, 4/8 – appointment time, 3pm – with Francisco Dominguez

I thought there was some secret to the tax guy, like he could magically get me more money back. What was this secret?! I wanted Francisco to tell me the secret! Instead, Francisco treated me like I was a dumbass and waste of his time. He answered my questions very vaguely. He showed me my return, and low and behold, he didn’t do anything special. He did what I do every year, and then he charged me $85 for it.

So lesson learned – there is no secret to taxes, other than the secret I now know: The tax guy is a waste of money. Everyone can do their own taxes if they only follow the instructions.

Hmm, maybe the reason people get more money back with a tax guy is because these people are lying through their teeth. That’s my only other guess.
