I first discovered Rooibos, or Red Tea, a few years ago. It’s more healthy than green tea. That’s how I’ve always promoted it. Well, in my endeavors to drink less caffeine, I have been researching Rooibos further. I have been finding some really wonderful health benefits!

I just re-discovered Sage Tea this weekend. Yummy!
Sage truly is a wonder herb! And I always thought it just smelled good and made food taste great! Hiking the Angeles National Forest, Michael and I always try to find the white sage to rub between our fingers to release the amazing scent! Because of this, I recently bought sage essential oil so we could have the smell whenever we wanted! And after that I found Sage Tea at Bird Pick Tea & Herb. You can imagine how excited I was at such a discovery! Well take a look at the abundant health benefits sage provides! It just gets better and better.

Got my Vitamin D Test Results back today, along with my Allergy Test Results. Two big blows!
I am severely low in Vitamin D. I’m at 18.5, and I need to be at 60. I’m starting a 5,000 IU supplement of Vitamin D3 tomorrow.
To retest in three months, to see if I need to take more!
I wrote a blog about the importance of Vitamin D. Check it out!

Deficiency in Vitamin D may lead to cancer (all cancers), cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, type 1 diabetes, fertility problems, dysfunctional labor, mood issues and certain autoimmune and chronic diseases.
As of right now, the conventional RDA for my age range is between 200 IU-400 IU. The experts suggest that most adults need about 5,000 IU of Vitamin D every day! Some may need more or less. The only way to test for your individual Vitamin D requirements is with a blood test.
These factors determine what amount of Vitamin D is right for you (more…)
